Which is Better - Xbox or Wii

When it comes to picking between the best video game consoles that are available in the market, there are only three great choices. The Sony PlayStation 3, the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii are the kings of the console market, and old players like Atari and Sega are firmly out of the picture. The Sony PlayStation 3 has been reviewed in depth on Buzzle, and in this article we will be looking at a direct comparison between the Xbox 360 and the Wii.

Comparing sales figures, we find that the Wii has clearly outdone the Xbox 360 by more than 30 - 40 million units worldwide even though the Xbox 360 was released in May 2005 while the Wii came out in November 2006. This is because the Wii targeted a new demographic consisting of young children and elderly people along with the regular gamers, thanks to its unique motion gaming technology.

However, a direct comparison of the specs of the two consoles, the additional features that they provide and the number of updated models released paints a different picture. The Xbox 360 can do so much more than just play video games and is also infinitely more powerful than the Wii. The Wii is seriously falling behind in the console market now, and this is because nothing new has been added since the original 2006 release. Meanwhile Microsoft, and even Sony, have released their own versions of motion gaming as well, so the only real distinguishing factor of the Wii has been negated.
