yes, we are so young so artsy

by: Lina Lena

It’s so accepted but yet not yet embrace by the society. The young generation welcomes it with open arms though. Just like the song by Pat Benatar “We are young, heartache to heartache we stand… We are strong, no one can tell us we’re wrong” we go to art in order to run away from reality, seeking comfort in our own little world. I’ve decided to come up with a few of my favorite artist who are still oh so young for this industry, and their artworks will completely blow your mind away like ten bazooka was shot to your direction.

Lina Scheynius
Netherlands

A dash of pink on dark surroundings. Over flowing blonde hair. Intimacy of lovers. Those are the visions you get when messing around with her photographs. Most of them hold her as the model, posing straight-forwards movements into the camera. It would be no surprise by how often I see people fall in love with her work, they are all bright and honest wrapped in a bleak cover.

Louis Kanzo
Indonesia

Black and white would be a pretty hard roll of film to tackle for some people, but he handles it smoothly like the softness of a cotton candy. Without the colors to distract your attention, all the expression and the dark shades of black and grey, you will take his photographs seriously into heart. His sense of easy-going and laid back vibe in such a serious form of colors (not just black and white) makes it so much faster for me to absorb them.

Anne Pehrsson
Sweden

A full on self-portrait photographer. At first you’ll think “there’s just so much restrictions to take deep self-portraits without the same old thing hanging around”, but no, she can do so much more. The contrast and shocking colors force you to wake up and pay more attention! They haunt you until the next photo of her you see.

Jolijn Snijders
Amsterdam

The creator of an all artsy pantsy multimedia magazine, I love FAKE, she is first a photographer (and still is). Like most fashion shoots, the models doesn’t really show emotions, but a special sharpness in her photographs gives out the difference. They have a fierce stare, almost like glowering at you even though they’re not really in front of you. The magazine is filled with amazing upcoming and never before heard artists. Pages and pages of your pure indulgence in creativity, it attracts people who are always connected with the art and fashion industry.
